Stamford Engine Company 3 Late 1800's

Stamford Horses Put Out To Pasture. Like so many other cities, the Stamford Fire Dept. in Stamford, CT began to motorize its fleet of fire apparatus at the turn of the century when gasoline powerd fire fighting machines replaced horse-drawn engines.

Fire Levels Plant In Prospect

Prospect, CT - Firefighters using tankers and portable dafting ponds were unable to contain a fast moving blaze at "Foam Plastics of New England" on Route 69. Exploding fuel and styrofoam contributed to the spread of fire.

Fire Is Doubtful

Shelton, CT - Shelton firefighters from Echo Hose Co. 1 & Huntington Co. 3 find that they no longer need their thermal imager to find hot spots at a roaring house fire at 280 Huntington St. on November 26th of 1993. The fire was started by a plumbers torch in the basement. (Photo ID by SFD C-3)
