Ward Street

3-Alarm Fire Damages New Haven House

A fast moving fire at 177 Ward St. on April 1st of 2007 caused heavy damage to an abandoned house and briefly endangered the adjacent residence at 179 Ward St. The neighboring house sustained minor damage when siding was melted by intense heat.

Quinnipiac Ave.

Firefighters arrived to find a large wood frame boathouse in the 600 block of Quinnipiac Ave. in the city's Fairhaven section to be fully involved. The November 7th 2007 blaze destroyed the structure and the equipment of a local lobster company. (Photo by FF Joe Ciscone).

 

Ward Street

Firefighter Rescued From Burning House

In a dramatic rescue by his brother firefighters, Captain Howard McCann of Engine Co. 17 was pulled from a 2nd floor window after he ran out of air while fighting a fast-moving house fire on Cove Street on December 9th of 2004.

Middletown Ave.

Resident Dies In New Haven House Fire

The lone occupant of a single story ranch style home at 164 Rosewood Av. died and the home was destroyed as flames raced through the house on February 2nd of 2004. (Photos by Joe Ciscone).

Fire crews faced an impossible task when they rolled up on this fully involved 2.5 story house on James St. on October 31st of 2002. These amazing photos were captured by FF Joe Ciscone who was early to arrive at the fire scene.

Ferry Street

Woman Falls 3 Stories During 4-Alarm Fire

3 homes were destroyed and a 4th was damaged when a raging 4-alarm fire ripped through the 400 block of Ferry St. on April 16th of 2001. A woman fell from a 3rd floor window and was seriously injured while trying to escape from the flames.

Pendleton Street

Pendleton St. House Destroyed By Fire

A 2 Alarm fire, that began on the first floor of a 2.5 story wood framed house on Pendleton St., on March 3rd of 2000 raced upwards and rapidly spread to the second floor and attic and eventually broke through the roof.
